The FlexiShield Copper Band (produced by Lumos) is a specialized dental matrix system designed primarily for Deep Margin Elevation (DME) and challenging class II composite restorations. It is engineered from pure, highly malleable copper, serving as a form or temporary wall around a heavily damaged tooth structure. This helps clinicians seal and reconstruct deep subgingival margins effectively before placing the final restoration
- High Malleability & Adaptation: Copper’s natural flexibility allows the matrix to easily adapt and conform to complex, deep tooth geometries and concavities below the gumline.
- Shape Memory & Stability: Despite its pliability, it offers great resistance to apical pressure. It maintains its structural form to accurately hold filling material without collapsing.
- Subgingival Isolation: It provides tight marginal adaptation. This creates a reliable shield against blood or crevicular fluid contamination during adhesive protocols.
